Pinarello RT Ladies: Revolution 17 | |||
The Pinarello Ladies Team all competed in the Elite Woman's races at Revolution and put in some exceptional performances against some of the best women riders in the UK. First women's race was the 1 mile dash. The race started at a fairly rapid pace with the four Pinarello riders, Hannah Rich, Jessica Allen, Alex Greenfield and Becky James spread fairly evenly throughout the field. With a the first couple of laps gone there were a couple of attacks, but Becky James remained right at the back of the bunch. With three to go Becky started to make her way up through the field so that she was in a good position with a couple of laps to go to be able to make an all out attack. Despite Kate Cullen and Katie Colclough having a decent lead, Becky went past them with ease to take a comfortable win. Fast finishing Hannah Rich claimed third spot. Next race was the 8km scratch. Unfortunately Becky was suffering from a sore throat and was advised to sit out the remainder of the night's competition. Despite one rider down, the three girls all rode really strong races. Alex Greenfield rode a particularly aggressive race leading the field in numerous breaks, but most importantly timed her sprint finish to perfection to claim another win for Pinarello RT. Hannah Rich once again finished strongly to claim 4th and Jessica Allen claimed 9th place. The last race was the 8km points race. Despite Alex Greenfield being European Junior Champion in this event and Jessica Allen being British Junior Champion, the three girls were not quite in the mix for the podium places, with Jessica Allen managing a 6th place, Hannah Rich 8th and Alex Greenfield 11th.
